AIG SELECT-A-TERM®
Life doesn't always fit into neat little five year increments that are the standard for most term insurance policies. AIG Select-a-Term® from American General Life Insurance Company offers you a powerful new way to customize your life insurance plans to anticipate known future events such as retirement, paying off a mortgage or funding your children's college education.
With AIG Select-a-Term you avoid paying extra, unnecessary costs by choosing only the term coverage you need: 10-, 12-, or 15- through 35-year term periods.
AIG ROPTerm®
When we buy insurance, most of us hope our families won't see the day when they have to use it. And that's what makes this term life insurance so special. It guarantees your family a death benefit if you're suddenly taken from them2. But if you're not, it actually returns an amount equal to the premiums you paid at the end of the level-premium policy term3. If you keep the policy in force, you collect whether you live or die.
Guaranteed benefits OR you get your money back!
ROP Term offers these benefits:

AIG ROPTerm®
When we buy insurance, most of us hope our families won't see the day when they have to use it. And that's what makes this term life insurance so special. It guarantees your family a death benefit if you're suddenly taken from them2. But if you're not, it actually returns an amount equal to the premiums you paid at the end of the level-premium policy term3. If you keep the policy in force, you collect whether you live or die.
Guaranteed benefits OR you get your money back!
ROP Term offers these benefits:
- Solid coverage for the term you select (e.g., 15, 20 or 30 years).
- A fixed monthly premium that does not change during the selected term, even as you get older or if your health declines.
- Guaranteed full benefits to your loved ones if you should die. The money can be used to help cover income replacement, household expenses, taxes, debts or "someday" dreams such as college tuition.
- Guaranteed return of an amount equal to the premiums you paid when the term ends if you are still living and you've kept the policy in force.
Available Riders4
- Accidental Death Benefit: Pays a death benefit in addition to the death benefit of the base policy if such death resulted from certain accidental injuries
- Waiver of Premium: Automatically waives policy premiums after six months in the event of the insured's total disability (not available if the face amount of the policy exceeds $5 million)
- Child Rider: Available for issue for children 15 days or older but less than 19 years old
- Disability Income Rider: Pays a monthly benefit up to two years (after 90-day elimination period) if you are unable to work because of an illness or injury. While you are receiving benefits under this rider all policy and rider premiums are waived.

- Terminal illness endorsement is automatically included in the policy at no additional premium. State variations apply, and the endorsement is not available in all states. Any amount advanced is subject to a one-time fee and other terms and conditions. See your policy for details.
- Guarantees are subject to the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance company.
- An amount equal to the cumulative premiums paid on the policy during the level term period (15, 20 or 30 years), not including any substandard and rider changes, will be paid to you at the end of the level term period if the policy is then in force. The premium returned does not take into account any time value of money. Beginning the sixth (6th) policy year, a portion of this amount will be returned to you if you choose to surrender the policy.
- See the policy and riders for complete details. There may be a charge for each rider you select. Adding or deleting riders and increasing or decreasing coverage under existing riders can have tax consequences. Policy owners should consult a qualified tax advisor.
